La Piege de Meduse
Take Me Somewhere, Platform Glasgow, March 2017
Commissioned by Take Me Somewhere, a performance festival in Glasgow. Le Piege de Meduse was part of the Scratch Special, a night of new works in collaboration between performance & visual artists and musicians. I collaborated with Tut Vu Vu on an object-play version of Erik Satie's nonsense work, Le Piege de Meduse. The cast consisted of a pulsating plastic jellyfish, a cardboard tetrahedron, a hair covered woman and a man made from snooker cues. My 6 month old daughter Cleo had a cameo at the end being breastfed. Tut Vu Vu played live music and performed and I worked with them on the characters, costume and set. We all devised the performance. The characters were voiced by Gerry Mulgrew (my dad) and Alison Peebles.
